On March 31, for the 1st year students of the Librarianship department of the Tattimbet College of Arts, a library and bibliographic lesson “Information Search, Types of Search” was held.
The purpose of the lesson: to expand the bibliographic knowledge of students and direct them to further use in their professional activities. Students got acquainted with the address structure of search engines and Internet applications.
Future librarians have studied the algorithm for correct and efficient search of material in the electronic web-catalog of the regional children’s library named after Abai, in the EC on the websites of the National Libraries of Kazakhstan. Students, having mastered the skills of correct information search, will successfully navigate the Internet space.
Literary evening «Gashyk kozben karadym gul onirge …”
The week of the children’s book continued with the meeting “Gashyk kozben karadym gul onirge …” on the work of our fellow countryman, Honorary Citizen of the Aktogay region, an outstanding Kazakh poet, writer – Zhenis Kashkynov. This year marks the author’s 80th birthday.
Schoolchildren of the city came to the meeting, Zhenis Kashkynov’s sister Sarah Kashkynova and nephew Yernat Melsuly became special guests.
The guests recalled interesting facts from the life of their famous relative, showed Zhenis’ personal items, children asked questions about the poet’s work and books, Zh. Kashkynov’s poems and excerpts from his poem “Agybay Batyr” were heard.
Words-memoirs were heard from the lips of the editor-in-chief of the republican socio-literary magazine “Kasym” S. Sagintai, the head of the office “Rukhani zhangyru”, akyn, aitysker Aitbay Zhumagul.
At the end of the evening, Yernat Melsuly presented his book “Agylshynsha til syndyru” to the library.
Coaching center “I am a person”
A new meeting of coach psychologists Olga Penkova and Tatyana Spiridonova with library readers was devoted to the topic “Creativity: the development of creative thinking”. Many areas of intellectual work require creative thinking skills. This explains the interest of adolescents in the practices of self-development.
During the training, the coaches told the participants about the mechanisms of creative thinking and set several practical tasks. Readers, together with their parents, actively participated in the training and concluded that the benefits of training sessions are obvious for the development and self-improvement of the individual.
Quiz “Detective agency “Search”
For fans of the detective genre, librarians organized and conducted an educational and intellectual quiz “Detective Agency “Search”.
During the game, 9 teams of 4 people answered quiz questions related to detectives: from literary heroes of the genre to items used by detectives. The game is based on the “question-answer” mechanism, the winner was the team that scored the most points for correct answers after 3 rounds.
Quiz today is an interesting pastime for teenagers and a family vacation for active readers. Everyone was passionate about the game and left good reviews about it.
TableTalk «VTEME»
One of the highlights of the Children’s Book Week was a meeting of book lovers – TableTalk «VTEME».
The idea of the event is to bring together teenagers who are «VTEME». Of course, we are talking about those who cannot live without a book. The children gathered to share their opinions about their favorite books with each other. The participants discussed the main trends in literature and got acquainted with the novelties from the library’s collections. But the most important result of the meeting was new acquaintances.
Meeting with writer Saule Doszhan
Our guest was the poetess, writer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Saule Doszhan.
The author of the popular book “A Millionaire from the Village” at a meeting with readers shared her memories of childhood, youth, her creative plans for the future and the creation of a novel for children about the legendary athlete Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov.
The dialogue was attended by a writer, journalist, researcher of the history of the region Torekhan Maibas; Head of the Department of the Kazakh Language and Literature of the Academy “Bolashaq”, Ph.D., Professor Kurmangazy Sembiev; artist, activist of the international anti-nuclear movement “Nevada-Semipalatinsk”, author of illustrations for the book Karipbek Kuyukov.
The children shared their impressions of the writer’s works, read an excerpt from a well-known story, and the invited guests noted the importance of creating interesting literature for today’s youth.
Asyk Party
The game of asyks is one of the Kazakh national games. This game is one of the ancient types of games of our ancestors, who have long been engaged in cattle breeding. On the significant holiday of Nauryz, the Asyk Party competition was held in our library. Teenagers received information about asyk and got acquainted with the types of asyk game. The boys competed with each other. Each participant was given a small gift.
Excursion
On March 14, students of 11 “A” class of school 12 visited the library. The children were invited to see the halls of the library, get acquainted with the book fund and exhibitions, and also talked about the rules of using the book, online services, circle and club work.
The children looked at the magazines with great interest and shared their impressions with each other. At the end of the tour, the children said that they often come to the library and expressed good wishes to the library staff.
The ethnic stained-glass window «Nur sebele, Ulystyn Uly kuni!»
Nauryz is the main holiday of the year, both among the Kazakhs and among many peoples of Asia, celebrated for more than five thousand years. On the eve of this holiday, the library organized an ethnic stained-glass window «Nur sebele, Ulystyn Uly kuni!». Books about the traditions, customs, rituals and games of the Kazakh people with various household items are presented for readers.
The ethnic stained-glass window is aimed at popularizing knowledge about the peculiarities of Nauryz – the Day of the Spring Equinox.
The circle “Let’s speak Kazakh!”
The study of the Kazakh language within the walls of the library continues. The guys at the mug “Let’s speak Kazakh !” got acquainted with the names of vegetables and fruits, talked about proper nutrition, learned to pronounce the phrases “My favorite fruit is an apple”, “I like pomegranate juice”, “Carrot juice is healthy”, remembered what grows in the garden.
